MODEL S- or S+

UNIDEN PC-33

Installition:

1.

Remove the covers from the unit and locate the ceramic filter FT-1 next to the three pots in the center of the unit.

2.

Looking at the three pins of the filter (circuit side) notice the dog leg trace to the right side of the third pin. Cut this trace in the center leaving two connections on top, and hvo on the bottom.

3.

Solder the expanders green wire to the bottom side of the cut trace. Solder the expanders white wire to the top side of the cut trace.

4.

Solder the expanders red wire to the +13.8 VDC voltage at the on-off switch. This is the bright soldered trace on the left side of the radio.

5.

Solder the expanders black wire to circuit board ground.

6.

Solder a 22pf capacitor in series vnth a 1K resistor (1/4 Watt). Solder these pads across the two outer pins of filter FT-1. Do not use the 100 pf capacitor that comes with the kit on this unit.

7.

Enlarge the small hole behind the selector switch and mount the expander board using the switch hardware.

Tuning:

* Tune coils L1 and L2 for maximum receve on both bands. Receive noise will be slightly lower on the extra channels on this unit because of the fewer stages of amplification. Signals on the extra channels will not be as strong as with the more expensive units using this kit.
