Tenna CB-24
EXPO 100 EXPANDER
MODEL S- OR S+
TENNA CB-24
Installation:
1. |
Remove the covers from the unit and locate coil T6 close to the LC7131 PLL chip. Unsolder the pins of T6, and remove it from the circuit board. |
2. |
Solder the expanders Green wire into the hole of T6 that connects to capacitor C35. |
3. |
Solder the expanders White wire to the hole across T6 that connects to capacitor C12, and resistor R37. |
4. |
Solder the small 100 pf capacitor (included in kit) across the outer terminals of the ceramic filter CF-1, located close to coil T3. Note: if a squeeling noise in the receive is present, try soldering a 22 pf capacitor in series with a 1k resistor across CF-1 instead of the 100 pf. (See Uniden PC-33) |
5. |
Solder the expanders Red wire to the switched +13.8VDC at the ON/OFF switch. |
6. |
Solder the expanded Black wire to circuit board ground. |
Tuning:
Power the unit on and tune the channel selector to channel 10. Tune coil T3 while switching the expanders switch back an forth. Tune the coil for a compromise of best receive for both sides. Slightly tune the other coils T2, and T4, to enhance the results. Tune coils L11, and L12 for best transmit power.
