Realistic TRC-432A
ECHO 100 EXPANDER
MODEL S- or S+
REALISTIC TRC432 (LC7131 PLL)
Installation:
1. |
Remove the covers from the unit and locate the ceramic filter labeled FL3, located close to the PLL chip. Unsolder and remove FL-3 from the circuit board. |
2. |
Solder the expanders Green wire into the how of FL-3 that connects to capacitor C78, and resistor R79. |
3. |
Solder the expanders White wire into the other hole of FL-3 connected to capacitors C77, and C24. |
4. |
Solder the small 100 pf capacitor (included in kit). from the output pin of ceramic filter FL-1, where capacitor C23 connects. Solder the other leg of the 100pf cap. to the center pin of coil T4, where resistor R14 connects. |
5. |
Solder the expanders Red wire to the switched +13.8 VDC side of the ON/OFF switch. |
6. |
Solder the expanders Black wire to circuit board ground. |
Tuning:
Power on the unit and tune the channel selector to channel 10. Tune coils T4, and T6, while switching the expander from low to high position. Tune these coils for a compromise position of best receive. slightly adjust coils T2, and T3, for best results. Tune transmit coils L3, and L4, for best RF output.
