COBRA 40 Plus (LC7131 PLL)
Installation:

1. |
Remove the covers from the unit and locate capacitor C322, connected at pin 12 of the LC7131 PLL chip. Remove C322 from the board, and solder a 22 pf capacitor to pin 12 of the LC7131 IC (IC 202), and the other leg to the expanders Green wire. |

2. |
Solder the expanders White wire to coil L204 at the junction of resistor R313 (560 ohms). |

3. |
Solder the 100 pf capacitor (included in kit) across the outer pins of the ceramic filter CF-1, located between coils L103, and L104. |

4. |
Solder the expanders Red wire to the switched (+13.8VDC) side of the ON/OFF switch. |

5. |
Solder the expanders Black wire to circuit board ground. |
Tuning:
* Tum the unit on, and tune the channel selector to channel 10. Move the expander switch back and forth, while carefully funning coils L103, L104, and L108, for best receive on both sides.
