Texas Star Sweet Sixteen / Twelve Gauge CW Transmitter To AMP Conversion
1. | Remove solder connecting the two yellow 2200K caps together |
2. | Locate red wire of oscillator board and cut the attached 33ohm resistor from diode |
3. |
Unsolder the green wire of the oscillator board from the orange wire |
4. | Remove black wire from keying jack |
5. | Remove oscillator board. |
6. | Remove the 33pf cap in parallel with 15pf cap next to the small relay |
7. | Remove purple jumper wire attached to large relay and discard |
8. | Solder leg of yellow 2200K cap to large relay where purple wire was |
9. |
Remove the two 330pf caps in series connected to the large toroid. NOTE: Texas Star has eliminated the two 330 pf capacitors at the output of the DX1200 and DX1600 CW Transmitters as of the last part of 2007. |
10. | Solder the orange wire to the center of the coax connector marked "radio" |
